Wine
Words and music by Neil Ecker
One summer when I was young I went to have some fun
Sat on the pier at the dock of the bay I met a guy I thought was gay
The man I thought was gay had a girlfriend with him that day
They kissed and drank a bottle of wine went to the store a couple of times
My heart raced my palms sweat I can’t let on I haven’t drank yet
A sense of feeling way deep inside an empty bottle rolls with the tide
He offered me some wine it tasted sweet and good
I had a glass then some more I felt so strange I fell on the floor
I met a girl there too her eyes I think were blue
I thought she was hot she thought I was not I made my move until I got caught
By the time the night was through I knew what I had to do
Too many drinks I did not feel right I wanted a girl but I couldn’t light
What a week I had I hope my folks aren’t mad
I had my first drink at the dock of the bay I met a guy I thought was gay
